Transmission #006.

Transmission Time: 11:12.

...Found a hydroponics lab and more eviscerated bodies. Still no blood...

...all plant life dead and shrivelled...

...feel disorientated, only light source is a flickering fluorescent tube...

...need to get out of here, but I'm so scared, can barely move...

...I'm back where I found the first body - it's gone, just a smear on the floor...

...What the fuck is going on?...

...I'm lost, no clue where I am...

...Wait, was that...

End Transmission.

Transmission #005.

 Transmission Time: 05:15.

...Found a body on the upper level...

...I thought they were lying there, sleeping...

...when I touched their shoulder they just rolled over...

...empty, bloodied eye sockets stared back at me...

...but worse, they were missing half their ribcage...

...something had scooped out all the internal organs...

...Gone. All gone. No blood...

...I don't want to die down here...

...Not alone and like this...

End Transmission.

Unexpected Character Growth in my Cyberpunk Novel.

Copyright © Mark  R Kelly 2026.
Apparently when writing a story on the scale of a novel, not everything is written in stone, especially when it comes to characters.

I'll be honest and upfront, this 'story' has been dragging its feet over a couple of years on and off - more 'off' of late. From what I gather through various channels and sites set up by other writers/authors, the mid-point of a story/novel is a common sticking point for most writers.

The reason cited being the lack of excitement for the project; the novelty has worn off, and the thrill of writing something 'fresh and new' has now turned into 'stale and old'.
